Carlton Conway Candler III
1961-2008
Carlton Conway Candler, III, died Sunday, January 6, 2008, at New York. Born May 30, 1961, he was the son of the late Mildred Parker Candler and the late Carlton Conway Candler, Jr. Carlton was a graduate of E.C. Glass High School and Lynchburg College, he worked for Xerox Corporation in Richmond. After earning his Masters Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, he became a caring and creative Teacher in Henrico Public School and later in New Jersey and most recently in the New York Public Schools in East Harlem. He is survived by a Sister, Elizabeth Candler Kelly and her husband, Greg. A niece, Greer Kelly and a nephew, Parker Kelly, all of Richmond. He is also survived by his friends, Mr. and Mrs. David Purdy (Perry Payne) of New York. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2008, at the Longwood Cemetery, in Bedford. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2008, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Richmond.
